We're looking for a small SUV or wagon to replace an older Honda Fit. We have a newer Mazda6 for long distance road trips, so our second vehicle needs to be our "city" car that we can easily drive/park in dense urban areas. We loved the utility of the Fit hatchback but were starting to feel cramped. We definitely want to stick with a wagon or SUV.

-a 2 yr old in a rear facing car seat.
-something short with good turning radius
-more cargo and rear seat room than the Fit

If you want a hatchback, a Toyota Prius is roomy enough and small enough for urban environments. You could find one for your preferred price range. Another car that would be a good consideration would be the Kia Soul that is small enough and roomy, and is safe. A CRV is also a good bet, as would be the RAV4. If you could find a Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe that would also be a good bet in a small wagon that's a tad larger than the Fit.

Try a Scion XB...Any of them from 2004 thru 2016..... Plenty of room inside, and room in the back to haul some stuff..Great gas mileage and they go forever...
