It was driving by and I didn't get a good look at it but I am pretty sure they aren't even made anymore.
I know the bigger the vehicle the more profit for the manufactures so they push big cars and trucks.
When did they stop making short bed regular cab?

Chevy, at least, still makes the regular cab short box pickups, as well as regular cab long boxes. It's just that most people buy the extended cabs and crew cabs. Look on Chevy's Build and Price page for the 1500 Silverado and you'll see it as an option. http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado-1...-your-own.html

Ford also makes the F150 in a regular cab, in two trim levels, with three different bed lengths: http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/trim/xl/ http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/trim/xlt/

I see them fairly regularly, usually with some sort of sport trim. It's the regular cab long bed that I seldom see unless it's a service vehicle.

They still make them. They just sell a lot more of the quad cabs.

They are sold mostly in white for contractors/delivery and mostly fleet. Dealers won't have them on the front lot, because they take up space from the money makers. Most trucks sold today are used as family cars and therefore require back seats so far more are sold (and advertised) with 4 doors.

You can easily go to the big 3's websites and see that they all still make regular cab with ~6.5 ft beds.

What may be confusing for some is that there are typically 3 bed lengths on a 1500 and that most crew cab trucks have a bed shorter then the "standard/short" 6.5 box and (almost) never have a 8ft "long" box (unless it is a 2500 or up). Of course crew cabs are like 85% or more of what is on the streets these days.

Only on the Silverado for Chevy.. The Colorado is Extended or Crew Cab only.

That is something that will tick me off.. I have a Regular Cab Colorado now (2005) and.. I can't replace it without going up to a Silverado.

I own a 2006 reg/short bed Canyon. I've always loved the regular cab short bed trucks.

Speaking of short beds. Here is the weirdest looking short bed truck. It's sooo disproportional!
