for four seasons i did tucson az to jackson wyoming, 1200 miles one way, straight through. one year i went from jackson wyming to south bend indiana in one go, about 1500 miles, and then south bend to tucson az, about 1900 miles in one go. after that though i quit driving straight through and limited my time to 12 hours at most. that would generally let me put down about 600 miles before i stopped for the night.

Atlanta to Seattle a couple times, one driving a big Penske truck pulling a car trailer which was not fun.
Did the drive from Ottawa Canada down to Orlando straight through once, in 22 hours, never again.

Lots and lots of variables on this one.

Some years back: Every third weekend I would drive from NYC to Raleigh NC (about 9 hours), I did this for a little over two years.

I was young so that helped. My vehicle was an ultra utilitarian late 80's SUV that was work to pilot for that amount of time. The drive itself was pretty brutal, there was always the potential for traffic in and around NYC, Philadelphia and DC.

The worst was driving back late on Sunday evenings and getting stuck in traffic outside of NYC after having already driven for 8 hours.

10 hours. I drove 28 hours in 3 days once (10, 8, 10) just for kicks, New Jersey to Nova Scotia and back. I was 31 and single.

My wife and I did San Francisco to Chicago in one shot. Hit blizzard conditions in Wyoming and Nebraska, and part of Iowa. Around 2200 miles.

Made me Google Map this stuff.

St. Louis, Missouri to San Antonio, Texas in one 16-hour stretch: 890 miles.

San Antonio, Texas to Mesa, Arizona in one 14-hour stretch featuring plenty of scenic viewing on the way: 980 miles. Fun stuff!

I topped out at an ten hour drive from Ohio to Virginia. Did that run overnight, and it was exhausting, and I feared I would fall asleep at the wheel. Never again! I used to make a seven hour run from Maryland to Ohio on a regular basis. That wasn't too bad.

Longest I'll go in one day is 10-11 hours. After that, it's just not safe. If I can get somewhere in 1 day, I'll probably drive, but if not probably fly.
