They bought used 4x4 vehicles, mounted a Google Street View camera to the roof, and went on the Rubicon. Tanner got an old Ford Bronco that was modified, Rutledge got a Toyota Forerunner, and Adam got a Geo Tracker. While I wouldn't say the Tracker was Rubicon material, I was impressed at how easy it overcame many of the obsticles. It was also the only one to not suffer a break down. The Bronco lost a leaf spring clip and was repaired with duct tape and heavy duty plastic tie straps. The Forerunner was left behind due to damage suffered from bad off-road driving.
the tacker has proven itself to be a very good off road vehicle despite its lack of power. good enough in fact that there are engine swap kits for the tracker to overcome that issue.
in all that was actually a pretty good show though.

The Tracker is just a rebdaged Suzuki Samurai, I don't know why any one is shocked that they are good off road.
Matt LeBlanc is more of a car guy than most people on this forum. of course, given this forum, that's not saying much...
What makes Top Gear work is the buffoonery and camaraderie between Clarkson, May, and Hammond. Not their car guy chops.
