Out of curiosity I looked up tires for cars I've owned in the past. Some of them had a 13" tire size that I can't find anywhere. I've tried TireRack, Discount Tire, Firestone Complete Auto Care, Goodyear Gemini, Sears, and even Walmart. How do people who still drive these small old cars get new tires? Do tire dealers have special order for hard to find sizes? Are there online stores that offer these hard to find sizes?

what size are specifically are you seeking?

I own/operate a number of cars from the 1970's-early 1990's that have 13" tires ... and have never had any difficulty sourcing tires for those metric radial tire sizes in original sizes. Many tire warehouses on-line have these as well as I can easily get them from my local tire dealers ... and I'm in rural USA, not in a big metro area.

I second Coker Tires. Corky had tires for my '24 Dodge.

I'll second that, I just searched tirerack.com for 13" tires and it appears that several sizes are readily available.

Maybe you're dealing with an oddball size that's always been hard to get? If that's the case, the best solution would likely be to go with the next size bigger or smaller and just keep in mind that the speedometer is going to be a little off.

175/80R13 tires were typically used on cars such as Dodge Aries, Mercury Topaz, or Pontiac Sunbird (all three of the Big Three used this tire size). Most of these cars have long since hit the boneyards ... but for those folk who are still running them ...

the tires are readily available through numerous major tire sources, including Tire Rack. Or Sam's club. Or Discount Tire, etc. etc. etc. It's neither an unusual or a specialty tire, although many retailers probably won't stock it anymore because so few cars will need it. But Goodyear, Carlisle, and Kenda each all make several tires (different tread designs and wear ratings, etc) in this size today in metric or P-metric sizing. With a little more checking, I'm sure I'd find a lot of private labeled "brands" in this size, too.

A 2 sec GOOG search turned up a few joints that carry that size...if you no longer own car(s) that take that size, why would you care?

Net is your friend for finding stuff...

Any decent tire shop should be able to order them. I needed tiers for my riding mower and they got those in the next day at Les Schwab.

Tire RAck has a couple of options available in stock:

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireS...=1&RunFlat=All

And walmart.com has three:

http://www.walmart.com/browse/auto-t...fs2=80&_fs3=13

So my question is now, why did you say you tried Tire Rack and Wal Mart? If you had you surely would have found them just as easily as I did.
