12 pages and we still don't know the make/model? I want my 12 clicks back.

I purchased a car imported from Australia and sold by an American manufacturer earlier this year. Oil changes are free for the first 3 years.

When I take my V8 Swedish SUV to the dealer for an oil change it's about $75. Full synthetic.

Car makers use some parts on different models and years (overlap so to speak) No need to redesign some parts when they can be used for years.

I recall back in 1952 having a 49 cad vert that needed brake shoes. My dad a mechanic and business owner did the shoes for me. He looked at them and thought they looked familiar to another cars shoes. He was right as a Buick had the same part but a different part number on the box and a CHEAPER price.

Same goes with VW as I owned a Engine rebuilding and Parts House so saw the inter usage in their line......and yes the prices were also different depending on where the part was made (country).

EDIT: For a whatever fact the RR be it NEW or USED is still a RR and the cost of any part will still be HIGH.
Back iin 1976 had a chance to buy a 58 Bently for a good price but already had four vehicles so passed.
I later owned a 57 356 and a 450SL so new how to do my own repairs at cost.

My 2015 Camaro goes in to the dealer for an oil change today. The filter is a canister type that is right on top of the engine. Costs $6 and take 5 minutes to change. Drain and refill it with Mobil 1.

This is the last of my four "free" ones but I'll still go to this Chevy dealer. Certain guys work on the performance cars like the Camaros and Corvettes and I've been happy with their work and pricing. The biggest problem is drooling at the Corvettes in the showroom while I'm waiting.

My car has to go in for its first service soon. That free scheduled maintenance is such a beating - I can't complain about the cost of my oil changes in this thread.

I've still got 2 more free oil changes left with my new car, but to be honest it's more of a PITA to take it to the dealer and let them do it...even when it's free.

Dealer is 7 miles away, takes 20 mins to get there. 10 mins to set it up with the service manager, wait around 30-45 mins, then 20 min drive home. So roughly 1.5 hours?

To be quite honest, it takes me 15-20 mins to do it in my garage (I've got a well equipped garage and tools). I'd rather have that hour of freedom to do other things...especially in the summer

I'm just saving the two freebies for winter when I have nothing else to do and don't mind wandering the showroom

I know! They're always locked too, it's like torture. Oh, if I didn't have little kids...

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have the kids. I think. lol
