A neighbor of mine purchased new one of the more expensive/luxury SUV. Six cylinder.
European.
With just over 2,000 miles on odometer. In six months.
The bill for the first oil change at the selling dealership was $416.00. He showed me the bill.
No repairs as car is still under manufacturers warranty.
So what could have been done to this fancy European SUV that could cost $416.00? With just over 2,000 miles?
Note: State sales tax was $23.00 of that $416.00.
Guy I worked with years ago won a Jaguar in a company sales contest. First oil change, service, and tune up cost him $1800. He sold the car right after that.
Maybe a Porsche cayenne, 8-10qts of oil, (probably Porsche branded oil), I would guess $15-$25 a qt, $30-$75 for oil filter, + 1-1.5 hrs of labor @ $130-$150hr an hour. Probably not just oil change, (other fluids and charging for an inspection that most gas stations would do for free).

I have a friend who used to own a Jag. I used to tease him that every time he took the car in it was $800. He got tired of that and got a Benz, now it's only $600 every time. I guess it worked out.
I guess since he bought the silly thing in the first place, the dealer concluded that he has more money than sense....so they billed him accordingly.
