It is a USA thing, dull drab car colours, only Ford and Hyundai seem to be brave enough to be more interesting.
In Europe, even the rental car lot looks exciting lol

Totally agree. Same thing around here-black, gray, silver and some white. Dealers order the lamest colors largely because they want what they consider to be easy to sell trade ins and lease turn-ins down the road. It's just dealer laziness for the most part but manufacturers have gotten more conservative too. One dealer wanted me to pay 1200+ dollars to get a rare color shipped in from the west coast-yeah right. I waited an extra six weeks for my brown ride and it was worth it-I see fifty black of my same car for every one I see like mine on the streets and like it that way.

I had a meeting at our airport Thursday, and looking out the window at the top of the parking garage, probably 90% of the vehicles were black. Around here, silver has been the most popular color for many years, but that seems to be changing.
My Ford truck and my Challenger are both red, my wife's Ford is blue.

Yeah, I remember that hunter green as well as teal green/blue was popular back in the 1990s. My friend had a '93 Cavalier that was teal and my aunt bought a new Mercury Villager in '95 that was like a dark green. Colors you do not see much of anymore.

You seen a lot of brown, orange, yellow and green cars in the late 60s-late 70s, a lot of earth-tone colors, again colors you do not see much of on todays cars.

As the former owner of a Santorin Blue Audi S4, Laguna Seca Blue BMW M3, and current owner of a Lapis Blue Pearl Subaru WRX, I must disagree with this statement. Not about the USA thing, but there are more than a few companies that offer a beautiful palette.

Unfortunately there are a lot of cars and car options available to the Euro market that we will never see for a variety of reasons.
