1978 Granada I think from my grandmother.. 1998-2000 $500
2000 Grand AM GT V6.. from 2000 to 2016 $20,000 new
2012 Camry XLE V6 2016-present. $17,500 used with 23,000 miles at the time.
I don't like spending lots of money on depreciating assets and don't really need variety. When something just works I'll tend to keep using it. I did do my homework when choosing the Camry and am quite satisfied with it.. the reliability and the performance of the V6 engine. Unless I become a millionaire the next 10 years I'll probably keep driving it.
For me it's like owning a pet.. rather than the hassle of owning one I'll enjoy the neighbor's pets... I can enjoy co-workers and friend's cars or go and test drive some at dealers pretending I'm going to buy. I got a rental Impala for a week back when I bought my Camry and they were fixing a defect in the front Bumper from the dealer hitting a snowbank with it. That was a nice ride. I'd be half tempted to get an Impala but I don't want it badly enough to spend the dough plus it got a full 5.5 less MPG than the Camry I own when driving on the interstate.
Which automobiles have you owned, previously and currently?
Currently, we have a circa 2004 Jeep Wrangler, 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty Powerstroke V8 Diesel, and a 1996 Hunday Car but can't remember the model.
We used to have a Saturn, but can't remember the year or model of it, a 1980s or 1990s Dodge Dakota, a Chevrolet Blazer (not a Chevrolet Trail Blazer but a Chevy K5 Blazer probably either 1980s or 1990s), and a 1980s Dodge Caravan.
Another correction it was an S10 Blazer not K5 Blazer

The list is in order. Best on reliability have been the Chrysler products followed by the GMs. Worst hands down were the Ford products. And no, the list doesn't stop at the turn of the century. I've yet to own a vehicle newer than a '99. The daily driver '94 Chrysler and Plymouth vehicles run fine and both have less than 100k each. No reason to start a monthly payment.
Yeah Chrysler and General Motors have good good vehicles when it comes to reliability even though some people seem to hate PT Cruisers and I know a church elder at our congregation he says that those cars are junk and some people seem to hate Hummers because they get really bad gas mileage especially without the Diesel engine option
1995 Toyota Tercel
2003 Jaguar X type
2005 Dodge Neon
2012 Toyota Corolla
present
2012 Nissan Maxima
2012 Honda Fit.
The fit is the more practical car but my maxima is the most fun car. The Jaguar broke down waaaay too often and I always had problems with the Neon's transmission.
