My first car was a 1960 Metropolitan. I had a couple of Ramblers, two Dodges, a Plymouth, two Renaults, a Dodge Colt (Mitsubishi), Chevy Luv pickup (Isuzu), five VW Beetles, a VW Squareback, a VW Microbus, and a VW Rabbit. I had a Subaru, a Nissan Sentra, a Nissan pickup, two Toyota Corollas and a Toyota Tercel.
The best vehicle of the bunch is my 1993 Nissan Pickup that has given me 24+ years of excellent service so far. My favorite cars were the 1972 VW Squareback, 1969 Renault 10, and my 2017 Toyota Corolla. The worst was the 1990 Plymouth Acclaim LX. It swore me off Detroit cars forever. The car that gave the best MPG was the 1985 Nissan Sentra. It consistently gave 39 MPG around town and 45 on the highway.

All my cars have had V-8 engines. :-)
All of my cars had good longevity.
The '66 Dart lasted a long time.
For example, 20+ years and 160,000 miles before the transmission was rebuilt (too many powerbrake burnouts).
And 22 years and 170,000 miles before engine rebuild (running fine but burning oil). Numerous burnouts and winding out the transmission to 45 mph in 1st gear and 70 mph in 2nd gear; never a complaint from the engine or transmission. Very well built.
I, of course, avoided cars with known reliability problems, like '80s Mopars.

It’s an affliction!
