It's called taking a Uber to Costco and it already exist. It's a known fact that no driverless car company is interested in selling to the public. I wouldn't either because it's not a profitable business model.

Eventually there will be plenty of competing driverless car service companies such as Waymo, Uber, Google, even Amazon will be offering car services to the public.

They will all operate driverless fleet service and it is expected that car ownership will drop in 1/2 in 25 years.
