UPDATE

Two weeks into ownership of the Ford Explorer LTD. Have driven 300 miles. Still learning about the Sync3 (electronics) but very satisfied with the purchase.

Congrats! Have you changed the door touch-pad PIN to your own number? How about the power pedals!
Since your original post, two of my neighbors bought one as well. Hope you enjoy it.

I did add a personal PIN to the touch pad (my former ZIP code). The factory installed PIN stays active even when you add your personal one. I do not believe the XLT (my model) has the power pedal option. Also not sure what I would change them to.

I like them but I'd rather have a JGC.

No thanks! The GC I had was probably the worst one ever built, but Im not taking that chance again! I know too many people who have had them and have had nothing but problems.

I'm on my third one. Other than one of them eating a couple sunroof controllers, they've been solid. Worst I've had out of the three was my current one and an oil leak at 3K miles - FCA had a TSB for it. Dealer fixed it and away I went, not a problem since. I put 20K-ish on them a year, sometimes more.

I'll probably buy one more before the next generation one comes out if the rumors about losing the V8 are true - I'll get a 2019 with the Hemi and wait for FCA to work the kinks out of the next one before I trade up again.
