My very first was a used Rabbit -- with electrical and shifter problems -- traded for a new Civic hatchback that was a sweet little car but zero frills, not even AC or a radio.
Now I'm done with that phase of my life and prefer to be up high in the cab, seeing the horizon rather than the top of the bumper of the SUV in front of me.
Granted... it would be nice to try a performance car; I've never done.
Look, most guys hit midlife and go for the red sports car. At least I'm practical
Toyotas (and similar appliances) are most boring vehicles which offer almost no drivability pleasure.
2 years back I purchased a brand new Camry SE (with so called sport package) and had to get rid of it within 6 months since I could not take it anymore.
While investment wise it made sense (life time warranty on powertrain, low MPG, reliability), the more I drove it, the more I hated it.
You should try driving a European sport sedan instead, if you want to feel alive again.

The last sedan we owned was a 1980 Datsun 210, that we traded in about 1987. Since then pretty much all SUVs and pickups, it's not been about boring, but practicality. Now we also have a coupe (Challenger) but that's the 3rd vehicle, for my fun.
I like reliable more than I care about boring. I also like comfortable. I have to drive around a van for work so when I'm on my one time, I want to be comfortable.

And the Camry SE is supposed to the most engaging to drive. Imagine how the ubiquitous LE models must feel.

Good luck finding variety on this side of the Atlantic.
Like writing off all women after banging Rosie O'Donnell.
How would you know? She might be the best ever.
In 35+ years buying cars, I've never purchased one that didn't have some kind of liftgate or tailgate. For how I live my life, a sedan is a lot less practical. The closest I've come to a sedan was my first new car. A 1981 Mustang hatchback.
