I love to drive fast like many people, but there are times & places for it for obvious safety reasons. If some blithering idiot is driving too fast in area they shouldn't, I sure hope they get a ticket.
I saw where another kid was struck (hit & run) in a school crosswalk in Portland due to someone speeding. I find it neither amusing nor do I want to help a speeder remain a danger with their usual driving habits.
Now, I KNOW you are not meaning for people to drive too fast in school zones and hit kids, but my point is that people really do need to understand when they can speed and when they can't. And, IMHO, a few speeding tickets may hopefully change their attitude.
Yes, i always flash my lights to warn of speed traps. I've had other motorists do that for me and have saved me from speeding tickets. Just returning the favor since I am a habitual speeder.
that depends, if its some moron coming the opposite direction, weaving in and out of traffic then no. He's a reckless driver and deserves a ticket. If it's a minivan puttin along on a lonely rode, then sure--Guess that sounds mean huh??
In some places it is actuall illegal. I know it was where I lived in Cleveland. The flasher would get a ticket just like the speeder. Ouch!
Some years ago a Portlander actually wrote a sign he'd hold up when the police radared in a local school zone around a bend from his house. Finally, the police ticked him, but there was a public uproar they were forced to take back the ticket.
NEVER! If they are speeding, then they will get what they deserve at some point and time. There is no way I will assist somebody who is a danger on the road to me and my family, or others.
