No, not fast. By today's standards, it's good for daily driving. Yes, between the mid70s to mid80s a 0-60 time of 8 seconds was very quick, but still not fast. In that decade there were economy cars that took nearly 30 seconds to reach 60. The average non-sports cars were between 10 to 12 seconds in base model configuration. Today the very small micro to subcompact cars can do 0-60 in 10 to 12 seconds.

8 seconds isn't slow unless it's a sports car.

Fast is relative to the person I think. If you were piloting a 0-60 mph 10 second car and get in a car that does it in 8 seconds, it probably feels quick.... at least now it does, but it won't for long.

One of my cars does 0-60 mph in 2 seconds flat.... and it doesn't feel fast to me. I want more power.... working on it.

Its all relative.

Not quite.

1001 hp $2.7 million - cant do it in 2 seconds.

I think perhaps the reference was to a car in a computer game.

Even at 8.2.

Where the hell are you going.

Zero to 60 is a BS number that car manufacturers play against each other.

I'm a competitive bracket racer.... I spend most weekends on the dragstrip. It is not 1000 HP, or even close if you know how to set-up a car.... and I do. My car 60 fts in the 1.27 to 1.29 range.

As a note, this Corvette at the time of the below pass had a raceweight of approximately 3250 lbs and made in the 650 HP SAE Flywheel area. (High 500's on the chassis dyno)

If I had a 1000 HP, I could grind it down to approximately 1.5 seconds.

Bugatti is a 4500 lb over weight car that performs best in top speed runs, which it does quite well.

A Bugatti next to me in a 0-60 mph race would be left sitting at the starting line wondering what the hell happened.
