Why did you wait to pass her? She's obviously mentally deficient and passing on the right is commonplace when dealing with such nitwits.

Everyone passes on the right in Calif. but when I am bearing down on some idiot in the left lane at 85 and their going 65 it's real scary, especially if you don't realise their going that slow until the last second.

Wait. Let me see if I got this right. You passed her on the right, then floored it, then moved back into the left lane? Seems like you're one of those left-lane-drivers too.

In my opinion, people that drive UNDER the speed limit suck even worse. Here in Florida we have a lot of elderly people who are afraid to drive anywhere except the little side streets near their homes. God forbid one of them has to drive on the interstate. OMG! They drive in the left lane going 10 mph under the speed limit. I wonder if studies have been done to show that people that drive too slow cause more accidents than people who drive a little over the posted speed limit.

I agree with your points but you shouldn't have brake checked... She probably has bad reaction time and someone similar to her will end up in your back bumper

Why didn't you pass on the right as soon as you had the chance?

80 MPH is not legal anywhere in the USA. You need to get over yourself and drive the speed limit. Regardless of one loony driver (other than yourself) on the road.

So my statement stands. The guy wants to speed and is biotching about someone not going ENOUGH OVER THE SPEED LIMIT to make him happy. He is the one who needs to be jerked off the road and not allowed to drive in ANY lane whatsoever.
Of course you only read the part where he said she was "doing 80 just to illegally tailgate the OP." How about the part where she was "driving 60-70 and illegally blocking the highway?"

Same people.

Happens to me CONSTANTLY. They are so totally ignorant to their vehicle, situational awareness, and surroundings, that they don't know if they're going 50 or 90. Really. They match your speeds whatever those speeds are. The other day I ended up going an honest-to-God one hundred miles an hour on rural interstate not to be mentioned, just to shake loose a rental van full of women who were apparently so engaged in their discussion that they latched onto me as I passed. When I began passing them, the van had dribbled down to 70 and I was going 80 (they had been too).

In Wisconsin, it's not unusual to see someone take the left lane for 20+ MILES. They actually even slow down to pass traffic. You never saw anything like it. If they are driving 75 in the left lane, when they approach traffic going 70, they will slow down to CREEP past it at 70.1mph. Then after completing the world's longest pass, they stomp on the gas and go back to 75 until they slow down to pass again. And if you try to pass on the right, you better be quick because they'll just rocket up to whatever speed you try to pass them at.
