I dare say, I prefer my '99 Camry to my wife's '11 Camry. Hers is larger, and more quiet, and probably faster; better mpg too. Better on all fronts; but it's a bit larger, which I notice when reversing. And the fit and finish... not as good in some spots. In other spots both simply feel behind the times (some of the switchgear feels like it's out of the 90's--acceptable in '99, not really in '11).
IMO my '11 is kinda ugly up front. My '99 looks like what a sedan ought to be, simple. I also like the size better, but then again I put on most of my miles as a single occupant vehicle, so I don't need a large vehicle.
those old Honda CRX...stock... can surpass 50 MPG...absolutely amazing and fun cars.
Other than a 300ZX or ones way out of my price range.. If I could happen upon a "barn find" of a car, I would go bananas for a 91 CRX Si.. Cars were awesome for their time.
Top pick looks more like my old Sentra since mine was black, but this is what my old Sentra looked like. Nothing special, but it held up pretty good over the years.
funny you think they look ugly, I thought they were beautiful... IMO the 90's was the pinnacle for Japanese design in the auto industry. The Hondas and Toyotas of have regressed from a design aesthetic and Nissan has fallen off a cliff. Again IMO the only Japanese automaker that continues to innovate from a design perspective is Mazda.
I'd easily take the Accord, Civic, Integra, Supra, Skyline, Maxima, RX7, 300ZX, 240SX, MR2, NSX, 3000GT, Diamante, Eclipse spider designs of the 90's over what is currently being designed.
The VR4 spyder pushed the Ferrari in the looks department at that time.
Skylines were beautiful
How about Preludes?
