If he can provide a cashiers check, he can provide cash. Demand cash, tell him to meet you at a police station if unnerved by the transaction.

They could also meet at a bank or a DMV office.

I like the idea of Pay pal! Meet him at his bank if he insists on giving you a cashiers check. I knew someone who sold a motorcycle for $5K and the person gave him a cahiers check. Guess what? It was FAKE! He was out the $5K! Lesson learned!!

Don't accept a money order either!

We sold a car for $3300 a couple of weeks ago. The guy brought cash. Cash only in all transactions when it involves craigslist. Always.

I learned when I paid for a car at a dealer that cashier's checks can be forged. The accepted it but only mailed the title when it cleared.

Agree with others here.

Cash and meet in the Police parking lot.

Cash only.

$1000 isn't a lot these days to carry around.
