Ja, me too! Went to the top about 160mph but in a Opel Rekord. Very disciplined driving there. No one hogs the left lane. After a few days getting used to it, it became the norm.

cheers...

120mph in a 2007 Chrysler 300C AWD Hemi. I chickened out pushing faster, and it was quite evident the car had more to give as it hit that mark with ease.

I've a 94 Integra LS. Was in a hurry a few wks ago and got up to 85 (don't know how much higher it can take but I also didn't want to be too much faster than everyone else on the hwy). I was surprised how quiet, smooth and straight it can still drive at that speed (usually I top out at 70 to avoid getting pulled over).

Maybe a better question is what is the fastest you have driven today? (88)

Or

What is the furthest you have pushed a car to its limits? (92 in an 87 H.P. Chevy Spark - who says you need a lot of horsepower?).

  • 150 in my RX7 Twin Turbo.
  • 130 in my X5
In both cases, it seemed like no big deal. But I also backed off after about 5 minutes (just in case).
  • About 125 in my RX7 Convertible - it was with the top up. I could see the windows being sucked outward. I'll have to try it again sometime with the top down to see if it behaves differently. I think I remember surpassing 125 with the top down and not having any concerns.
  • I once got to 125-130 in a 1985 Mustang. I instantly backed off because the front end started floating - scary.
  • I got to about 90-95 in my '71 Pinto. I could feel the clutch start slipping. I don't know if it would have had more to give with a better clutch.
