180 mph in Germany, when I was young and very stupid. But I enjoyed every second
Ja, me too! Went to the top about 160mph but in a Opel Rekord. Very disciplined driving there. No one hogs the left lane. After a few days getting used to it, it became the norm.
120mph in a 2007 Chrysler 300C AWD Hemi. I chickened out pushing faster, and it was quite evident the car had more to give as it hit that mark with ease.
120 in an Integra GSR, top of 4th gear, still had all of 5th to go.
I've a 94 Integra LS. Was in a hurry a few wks ago and got up to 85 (don't know how much higher it can take but I also didn't want to be too much faster than everyone else on the hwy). I was surprised how quiet, smooth and straight it can still drive at that speed (usually I top out at 70 to avoid getting pulled over).
In both cases, it seemed like no big deal. But I also backed off after about 5 minutes (just in case).
About 125 in my RX7 Convertible - it was with the top up. I could see the windows being sucked outward. I'll have to try it again sometime with the top down to see if it behaves differently. I think I remember surpassing 125 with the top down and not having any concerns.
I once got to 125-130 in a 1985 Mustang. I instantly backed off because the front end started floating - scary.
I got to about 90-95 in my '71 Pinto. I could feel the clutch start slipping. I don't know if it would have had more to give with a better clutch.
