Regardless, you still throw those behind you a blinker. It's courtesy, and often its the law.

You're in the DC metro area, So you know what the Beltway is like. Also you may be driving south on 301, so you know how bad that is it too.
Nlambert: If it's based on anything, it's simple observation: I see, where I drive, less blinker usage by light trucks than by any other type of vehicle.
Now, as far as reading ahead what somebody is about to do on the road, I'm pretty well versed in it. However, there's another small reason why signaling your turns would be appropriate: In many municipalities - It's the law.
You pay attention to bigger trucks because they're easier to notice. A smaller car is often very easy to overlook because it's small enough not to catch the eye. Trucks on the other hand are large enough that you can't help but notice them.
Make a conscious effort to look at every vehicle that turns and you'll see that it isn't limited to trucks no matter what the area. Since my truck is large enough to squash some of the smaller cars on the road nowadays I have to pay extra attention to those little cars so that I don't run over one. Maybe that is why I notice those also not putting on a blinker.
Understand that using a turn signal is the law, but you can't bring lawful vehicle operation into the conversation if you just admitted earlier that you too break the law. We don't get to pick and choose which laws we think others should obey. We all do it from time to time, but trying to call someone out because they break one law while you break another isn't really kosher.

***K-Man I never implied that lack of signals was exclusively light trucks. There is a fine line not being picked up here: that blinker usage is LOWEST in light trucks, not completely absent. Just as a higher PERCENTAGE of regular cars signal all actions, but some still don't. ***

If you would bother to read back to where I said that I speed, I also said that if I drove exact posted speed limits, I'd be honked or run off the road, especially on interstate highways! Try going 60 in the RH lane of any highway here in CT, let alone the travel or passing lanes, and you are BEGGING for trouble, be the posted limit 55 or anything else. Best case = you'll get a lot of high beams, horns, and middle fingers. Worst case, you'll cause a pileup.
So in the speeding case - we're ALL speeding! Problem is lack of proper ENFORCEMENT of existing speed limits.
My message to CONNECTICUT pickup and van drivers: Improve your signal usage when turning, pulling off the road, or changing lanes. I'm no f***ing mind reader!
I get that you shouldnt pick and choose which laws to abide by but speeding in itself isn't dangerous in my opinion if you are focused, however, not using a turn signal is regardless of the speed as its not only dangerous but it is disrespectful to other drivers. Its like the seatbelt law; people wear seatbelts to be safe yet they speed, don't use turn signals and talk on the cell phone but say that seatbelts should be mandatory. No one on the road follows every law by the book when it comes to driving but you should show respect to others on the road and this goes beyond turn signals. If you want to drive like an idiot, go ahead, just make sure you let others know of your intentions because accidents happen when you don't.
Personally, if I could get away with it I would love to ram into the next person I see that doesn't use a turn signal to teach them a lesson.

Man, if I had that capacity there'd be a LOT of damaged Expresses, Econolines, Silverados and F-150s around here in Fairfield County, lol!

Do that to the wrong person and they will pull you out of your car by your throat and beat your ass to to a pulp.
