Seriously! I live in CT and noticed this pattern. Cops are mixed on use of signals - some do some don't. Drivers of most ordinary sedans and SUVs are fairly compliant. But that big Econoline in front of me, or Ram pickup? It's like those blinkers don't exist!

No they are not they are just like any other motor vehicle. You just seem to see it more why would this bother you dont sweat the small stuff just drive and don't worry about anyone else.

There would be a flow if everyone did what they should while driving. I'm sick n tired of having to brake suddenly, nearly collecting the driver behind me with my rear bumper when Joe electrician or Biff plumber or a landscaper, for no apparent reason, stops in the middle of the road, and after a few seconds ducks into a side street or curbs their van or pick up! A nice blinker at least a couple seconds before turning, or pulling off to the side, keeps things flowing, and no one is annoyed or pissed. I can reach for a blinker in my car, so how about it, van & pickup drivers?

Hate to tell you but there isn't a dam thing you can do about it so getting mad and frustrated won't do anything but cause you to get an ulcer.
It has nothing to do with the vehicle... it has to do with the driver. It doesn't matter what they're in. I drive a Ram 2500 and routinely see every type of vehicle that doesn't signal. I think the fact that you're noticing it with specific vehicles shows a bias towards them and the people who drive them. If you stop paying attention to those specific vehicles and pay attention to everyone you'll see that it happens everywhere.

When behind the wheel of a potential rolling projectile I pay attention to everything that moves. That includes other cars, aforementioned classes of light truck, buses, bikes, and pedestrians. If I'm not, then I should not be driving at all.
And when I'm behind someone in traffic or at an intersection, I do notice both what their tail indicators are doing as well as type of vehicle, make & model. And it is my own Empirical observation, of traffic on roads within 50 miles of where I live, that operators of the aforementioned full-size vans & pickup trucks are least likely to use directional signals when driving those vehicles. Things might be different where you live, I have no right to judge there, just describing circumstances in my particular part of Connecticut, as I stated in my original post.

I hear you about people not using blinkers, I see it all the time. But YOU have to drive like nobody knows how to drive. If you were really paying that close attention to everything that moves you wouldn't have to "brake suddenly, nearly collecting the driver behind me with my rear bumper". How often does someone not using their blinker almost cause you to be in a crash?
