I actually saw 3,926 lbs from motor trend road test.
my 550hp supercharged challenger weighs 4280lbs. Yes there are remnants of MB technology in the understructure more so in the chargers,300`s,magnums but still better than the modern ford and gm stuff. Challengers were revised from the getgo in 2008 for a 6 speed manual so most of what they borrowed wasn't used for the Challenger. One reason the charger still doesn't come with a manual. Yes they`re heavier than the cheaper made Camaros and stangs with are pony cars ,while the Challenger is a musclecar.
Motor Trend recently did some testing of the Dodge Demon and as per the internal computer, only ran a best of 11.0.....
This thing isn't going to be as fast as advertised in the real world.
I saw that also, and the car is very capable. Those numbers were achieved by professional drivers, your average joe probably won't be about to duplicate those numbers without lots of practice. That's a lot power to try to put to the pavement, so you have to be able to launch this thing just right. That 11.0 was the best the Motor Trend guys could do. They also said other factors will come into play as well, like outside temp.
It's an auto..... properly heat up the tires and point and shoot and I think anybody can run the car to near its potential.
Part of it is air quality.... 9.65 run in a Negative 1000 ft DA in Florida ..... next is a normal summer day in Indiana.... however, the difference shouldn't really be more than 3 - 5 tenths maximum between the conditions.... not almost 1.4 seconds.
We'll see though. I look forward to lining up next to one at the track.

Lol, probably a little easier said than done. I have the 8 speed auto in my 2015 Hellcat, and believe me it take practice and some good sticky tires with that much hp and torque, so I can imagine what trying to launch a 840 hp beast and 770 lb ft of torque is like. I don't believe the tires I currently have on the Hellcat can handle the power when I get down on it though.
