No destination in mind, just for the fun of it? Do you enjoy driving your vehicle and drives are a form of stress relief? Or is your vehicle just for transportation?
There's a particular little trafficked winding road I like to hit that puts a smile on my face rowing through the gears and feeling the G through the curves.
Not really anymore. That's what I have motorcycles for.
Last "little drive" I went on via bike, ended up in Alaska and earned a SaddleSore 1000. Didja know it's 1,031 miles from Seattle to Hyder, AK?
True story, but that was some years ago. Epic rides on bikes can be fun, anything over about 400 in a day starts to become quite interesting and a bit of work.
Inverted to the quoted, I've had a couple coupes since late 2011 that beg to be cruised, short or long distance. So yes, I do that, with no destination. Those can turn into 400 mile days, on rare occasion. One turned into 1,000 miles two days and a big fat ticket from Oregon State Police, but can't blame them for enforcing their laws...
...Vast bulk of my cruises anymore are far less eventful. But yes: often, especially on summer Friday nights and Saturday mornings when the exotic cars tend to come out around here.
Yes, but much less then before. I did last night when I found and put some 98 octane in my vehicle. It wasn't cheap at all ($8.50 gallon) but was very noticeable. I had ran my tank to almost empty before filling. It was a blast cruising around pushing it. An expensive high, but cool to learn something.
