Sounds like an implicit admission that the car is designed to be noisier than it needs to be. Which I guess makes sense to the target audience for V8 Mustangs.

Modern motorcycles can be made to run quite silent - listen to a BMW or a Honda tourer. But some people do need their attention fix.

If you can generate exhaust noise, you can just as easily shut it off. To me, this is a feature to be found in the JC Whitney "ricer" catalog, not on a production performance vehicle.
