Any truly experienced driver will tell you that those claims are completely bogus.
You should visit Germany one day and visit the Autobahn - there is NO speed limit. Proper driving is severely enforced and accident rates are much lower than US interstates.
It's not the speed that causes the accident, it's the bad drivers in front of those speeding cars.

You're clearly not an experienced driver.
Speeding is the 2nd major cause and you can't wish it to go away. See here in America people who speed coincidently don't have the skills and they crash and die.
In Germany, the penalties for aggressive driving by are much more severe, following the law of "do what you want just don't be d**k". It really is that simple.
You are not special . Repeat that to yourself everyday until you get it.
There are many legitimate reasons for people to drive slower... vehicle problems, poor vision which cannot be fully corrected, elderly and disabled who need more time to think and/or react, carrying nitro glycerin (just kidding), etc.
Do us all a favor, slow down and give space!!!!

Speeding is not a cause of collisions. You just confirmed that.
I'd rather that they pass on by. Depends by how much they are speeding and if they are accomplishing this by frequently switching lanes. Makes ya wonder, did they just rob a bank,or something? I worry for those coming from the opposite direction. If the person is speeding and recklessly switching lanes then eventually those multiple lanes gets down to only one and that speeder passes when they should not and crashes.
Speed causes accidents. Cell phones cause accidents. Being high causes accidents. Being drunk causes accidents.
If you work in trauma you are no doubt scientifically trained which means you should know better in assessing causality. There is no doubt that speeding magnifies the carnage, no one will dispute that. But it says nothing about what led to the accident.
Even the above link claiming speeding to be the #2 "cause" of accidents is unreferenced and unsupported in any way
