Saudi Arabia is afraid of electric vehicles and other and other types of energy. I'm assuming everyone here knows why Saudi Arabia finally allowed women to drive? Or does no one read the news or get in touch with the world these days? Saudi Arabia is already a powerful economy and they want to advance even further. ISIS will never take them over, they are ultra conservative but they fight terrorists just like ISIS fights. They are one of the largest purchasers of US weapons/tanks/planes.

Saudi women are very educated, so look for any ban on women going out alone to be lifted in the future. They are trying to make their economy less dependent on oil just like America (imagine that!)

Saudi Arabia: Why did Saudi allow women to drive? It's scared of a post-oil world - The Economic Times

There are restrictions for women drivers. Only women over 30 years old can apply and they will be restricted to driving only in designated cities and only in the day light hours.
