I have no idea what model, it's a 4 door sedan. When I trade it in I'm considering getting a small pick-up as I have a lot of landscaping & yard work to do at my new house. I collapsed the trunk of the Nissan Altima I had back in 2004 hauling all the landscaping supplies.

If you can afford it a Ford Fusion. If you cannot, a Chevy Sonic sport.

I work for Ford and I wouldn't recommend a Focus above the competition. The transmission is enough to put anyone off.

You need to be a performance-oriented driver not to kill yourself in an MS3; OP used to own a Prius, so I sincerely doubt performance driving is his thing.

The BMW isn't a hatch.

Meaningless statement is meaningless. One could argue that buying Japanese when their quality is no longer industry-leading is the quintessence of being a follower and one of an outdated stereotype, at that.

Hatchback. Hatch. Back. With the rear door that opens fully. Like a hatch. OP probably doesn't live in Europe where the Fusion (Mondeo) hatches roam.

What would you get if your slate was wiped clean?

Requirements:
- Hatchback
- Small/small-ish as we parallel park in an urban city
- Navigation/backup camera, etc but I'm aware that's available on most cars now
Honda Fit. It's what I bought when I had the same requirements (aside from the backup cam, since it's old and they weren't popular then). The loaded EX-L has navi, leather and heated seats and is like $21K. The car holds its value really well and is super reliable.

Probably a used Volt. I think they are neat (as long as they are Blue) and I hate the hassle of buying gas.

Why a Bolt?
Yes, but comparable after the $7500 tax rebate. The Bolt won Motor Trend car of the year in 2017. From everything I’ve read its performance is far superior to the Volt. All electric with 238+ mile range. What is there not to like about it?
