I could just pick the last couple of years in Toyota's "entire history" with their current recall disaster which is pretty damn awful and say the same thing.

Anecdotes and opinion.

You know, we've been through this. I believe Lexus is a luxury brand created to sell more expensive Toyotas. I do not care that this gets people twisted up. It is a fact. You mention the Equus and that you don't think it is a luxury car. Why not? It is based on a platform that Hyundai probably spent millions if not a billion dollars developing just for it and the Genesis. It does not share that platform with a cheaper Hyundai. It has an MSRP that puts it in midlevel luxury status. But for some reason, it is "blatantly obvious" it isn't a luxury car to you. That's the same hypocrisy you hate that people show towards Lexus products. The only thing they didn't do is create separate showrooms and launch the cars under a seperate brand.

So I can understand not considering Hyundai a luxury brand, but to not consider the Equus or even the Genesis sedan as luxury cars is downright silly.
lol at comparing Hyundai to Lexus....if Lexus is a copy you love to state, then Hyundai is a worse copy of a copy Lexus leads in segments and is seen as a leader in the vehicle industry. Hyundai is seen as a copier who sells cheaper vehicles who recently tuned it around from being the laughingstock of the automobile world. The bad credit car company for people. Even to this day they advertise their cars with cheesy ads, free t.vs and cheetos with purchase and laughable looking dealerships.

Lexus history has been as good as it gets for an auto company since 1989. It is ridiculous to compare the two. The Genesis and Equus are good, they are unproven and clearly didn't spend the amount of money you said as the cars lead nowhere. No new technology, nothing.

If you can't tell the difference between a Lexus and a Hyundai, even the good Genesis and Equus you likely have never owned a luxury car before.

People aim to beat/meet Lexus. No one aims to meet/beat Hyundai.

Wow, I didn't know this thread was still going on! I still have not purchased a car yet. Still looking....I still get excited when I see the Lexus ES 350 but haven't made the big purchase! I have recently looked at some Infiniti M35s on line. I've been in those and I know they are very roomy. I have a car now so this is no real rush. This is more of a want than a need.

My primary needs (wants) in a car is basically 4 doors, V6, roomy enough for my family when they come visit, leather seats, sunroom and a few other items.
