Vinyl seats, rubber flooring instead of carpet, extended cab instead of four doors, and leave the radio and AC as options.

I had to take my car in to get the tire sensor light to go off. My tires seem to be fine but the dumb light kept on. However, I will want adaptive cruise ( I hate having to step on the brake when I am boxed in on the open highway, and I want blind spot monitors. I was in a very slight fender bender as I didn't see the guy. Thank goodness, no visible damage to either car. I do think the backup cam is a good idea. I have the backup sensors though but would like to see more.

Some kind of gizmo that would cause tailgaters to back off. An electronic signal that would cause their engines to cut out might work.

What gizmo would you like to see in your next car?
answer: A rational driver behind the wheel . Gosh but to dream and see that happen is asking alot!

otherwise the purpose of a car is a mode of transportation. Skip all the bells and whistles, its just more money tossed into it for repair.

Yep, The 60s and 70s were great. And the phone was at home on the wall. Drunk drivers were the main thing to watch for. Cigarette ligters, ashtrays, metal dashes and no airbags. We died at 55 from a massive coronary and we loved it!

I'd like that, too. I don't have to parallel park that often where I live, but I always seem to end up a little too far from the curb. In fact, a friend who used to ride in my car frequently when I lived in San Francisco used to joke, when I asked him to look out his window to see how far away I was, that "it's fine; I'll just take a shuttle bus to the curb." I mean, I was always within the 12" requirement, but just barely.

I was surprised when my son got his license that they didn't even test him for parallel parking.

Why new cars don't already have dash cams I'll never know. I've been installing them on my cars for 5 or more years now. Seems the insurance industry would want that.

Most cars today have vinyl seats. They just add a few strips of real leather here or there and call it a leather interior or add none and call it leatherette, indulgent leather interior. . . Find the fine print, almost all cars today have vinyl interiors unless you paid more than $60 K for the car. A few cheaper cars are not vinyl or mostly vinyl, but fewer and fewer each year.

Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Honda toyota Mazda Ford Chevrolet, Buick, Chrysler, jeep, dodge, subaru, Mostly use vinyl for "leather" interiors. Some of them have been caught with misleading advertising implying the interior is real leather when it is primarily vinyl. Usually the vinyl has some other name to make it sound like it is not just vinyl because vinyl has been equated with cheap.

Ideally, electric powered. However, I don't think that's likely.
Heated steering wheel. Keyless starting. Spare battery.
One thing I don't need (who does?) tachometer.

How about a hand that comes out and smack the driver for texting while the car is moving?
Or how about LESS gizmos to distract people from driving their car? Forget about self-driving cars it's just one step away from being to lazy to breath. If you want a self driving car then buy a bus pass.
