Actually, I saw some direct integration head units for Toyota and Lexus, made EXACTLY like OEM ones with all kinds of blows and whistles. And what exactly is you going to miss on that display anyway, if nowadays they have 2nd display in the instrument cluster, basically showing same info? Unless head unit is integrated into climate control system, I saw that too, then sure, it's a pain.

A nice used 16-17 Chevy Impala LT or Premier model, you will love it! The 17 adds Android Auto and Apple CarPlay which has come in handy and is truly one of best features new cars offer.
Plus the greatest reason of all is that you can get low mileage ones for under $20,000.
Sort of funny, usually one of the first things I do when I get a car or truck is replace the radio head unit and speakers with quality aftermarket components. They make interfaces to retain all of your factory functions. It is irritating that auto manufacturers want to run everything through their ****ty head units. I know they do it to cut costs but damn make independent modules for some of that crap and keep it out of the radio head unit.

That's a good thought. Not many used 2017s though. I like that idea.
Plus, if you adjust your mirrors right then there isn't much of a blind spot on most cars. Most people adjust them too far inward (you should not be able to see your car in the side mirror).
If you adjust your mirror to the point where objects disappear out of view on the side mirror at the same spot where they first appear in the rear view mirror then blind spots really aren't a big issue.
Got my mirrors adjusted perfectly. Mine are pretty wide. However, blind spot monitoring is extremely useful, especially when a car moves into your blindspot after checking to make a lane change.
That is one sweet ride, and I can beat almost *anyone* off any red light, and that is very important.
As someone else mentioned, the Entune system is somewhat problematic.
The Entune issues I've been reading about are what is keeping me away from Toyota. Same reason I won't go back to Mazda.
