IMO its far more common to remove badges on motorcycles vs cars. I can spot a Honda a mile away just from the shape of the air box. No way I'm going to mistake a Honda for a Harley, but these guys will keep trying.
I use to frequently see people swap out the fender emblems of base model V6 Mustangs and affix a Cobra snake to the fender along with other, incorrect, references to Cobra on the car. Pretty easy to see the car was a fake, but sometimes the owners would swear up and down it was a real Cobra, or a V6 with the "cobra package"
If I had a good sleeper like a G-8 GXP, I would remove the GXP badges same with a CTS-V. It would be that much more fun to watch peoples eye bug out. (Well imagine it, you would not be able to see their eyes in your mirror). I love the idea of a stellar sleeper, not sure why. The more innocuous it appears the better.

People do it for a laugh. My friend had a beater, 4WD 80’s era Toyota truck that he started out with a Lexus steering wheel due to its comfort, then added Lexus seats, same reason, then a Lexus trunk & grill logo, license plate frame from a Lexus dealership, and other Lexus related items...all free stuff.
I think it is idiotic to have a license plate frame on a specific model explaining the model. For example a BMW with a BMW license plate frame. Not talking the dealer frames, but the owner purchased frames that look nice. I know what you are driving no need to advertise again.
I prefer a car with no badges. Get rid of all of the badges. Not getting paid to advertise and if you look at the car you know what it is anyway.
I did find a 1957 Chevy at a dealership with Gold badges all the way around. The problem is that the car had a 6 cylinder and not the V8 that is should have had. In 1957 you knew the difference when the badges were gold or chrome. V8 = Gold badging, strait 6 = Chrome.
Saw a
Dodge 1500 with a Type R badge 1980s C3500 Chevy dually with Cummins badges. Funny thing was it sounded like a Cummins 6
Most likely it was. You can buy conversion kits to put a 6bt just about anywhere. And be a huge upgrade over that slug 6.2 that GM used back then.
