By 2025 most of that will be gone. In 1900 there were lots of horse stables in the cities and towns of the USA, with infrastructure to feed these horses and remove the horse dung. Also infrastructure to accommodate the horse wagons and all the skills to maintain the lot. Rail terminals constantly brought in horse food (the fuel). Thirteen years later most was gone and replaced in ICE car infrastructure.

npaladin2000, it is best you watch the video, and others given. BTW, topping up a battery is no different to topping up a fuel tanks. All you do is put energy into the vehicle.

Topping up a battery takes much longer than pouring gas. Or don't you remember basic physics? Chemistry? Electrical Engineering? Dunno, you apparently have problems with English, which doesn't say much for Brit schools...

That has been disproven. Also makers are looking at laminated insulated steel/carbon for the bodies to keep heat in and heat out. The best is yet to come.

The point of the thread is that futurists predict that EVs will take over in around 2025-2030 and that the tipping point towards EVs has come.

No it won’t. That’s only 6.5 years away, some vehicles being sold today will barely be broken in by that time.

Cars replaced horses because they were practical and made peoples lives easier, kind of like how having a refrigerator is easier than lugging home huge blocks of ice. Switching from an gas powered car to an EV doesn’t necessarily accomplish that.

You've wasted everybody's time with this, parrotting Tony what's-his-name and predicting the demise of the internal combustion engine in 7 years. If you believe so strongly in what you say, put your money where your mouth is. Let's make this simple.

1. The U.S. will only be able to buy EVs after January 1, 2025. Let's wager one pound on this.

2. By January 1, 2025, most of the gas stations in the U.S. will be gone and replaced by EV stations. What percentage do you want to use? How about 51% of gas stations in the U.S. will be gone. Let's wager one pound on this also.

I'll be waiting for your answer.

15 mins to charge up 350 miles is a long time. Also you will drip charge a EV like you do with a smart phone. At home, at work, in the supermarket, etc. Look at how it is going instead of being negative. Wise up.
