I like the Soul, lots of very usable cargo space in a relatively inexpensive vehicle. I also like that love it or hate it, at least it doesn't look like any other car currently being sold new in North America these days.

Basically I would just categorize it as "practical transportation" very common vehicle here but it's mostly either the very young OR retired folks driving them.

It's just a hatchback. That doesn't make it bad it's just what it is. If straight lines make a "SUV" then the AMC Gremlin is a SUV too.

The first one I had was a manual transmission. It was fun at first but with the traffic we have here now I traded it after 2 years for an automatic. Now that I think about it I never felt it was all that comfortable of a ride. Although I don't like sitting low like I do in the Forte (even with a seat pillow) I just never felt secure or something. I can't put my finger on it. The Forte envelops me where I felt too floppy in the Soul. I know that probably makes absolutely no sense.

I do have to say I liked the Soul much better than the Forte (except for looks), especially since I'm short. I'm curious as to what the 2019 ones are going to look like. My lease is up in August of 2019 so I will be looking at a 2020 model most likely. May reconsider another Soul in Caribbean Blue.

The Soul is not on a truck body. It's a unibody. The salesman was likely an idiot.

It’s a big money maker for Kia that’s what the Soul is.

Well that's a safe bet. All of that, especially the last part.
