When you are running a bit late, going a little quicker (3 mph or so) and making the lights by a second or two does make a difference, especially if you have a long commute. You just gotta be familiar with the light cycles, which isn’t difficult if you take the same route each day for years....
Just gotta look at the pedestrian counters when approaching the intersection.
Same, especially if all the lights are on the same schedule I can't tell you how many times by beating one light, i've beat 10, and I watch as everyone behind me gets stuck. lol Most of these people haven't driven in a city like LA where every second counts, and being strategic is the name of the game.
Isn’t that the truth! Knowing the traffic flow on any given road or highway & changing lanes at just the right time makes a huge difference.
I don't speed in town - there are way too many idiots who only drive to the store and have no skills, so I can't trust them to look before pulling out of a driveway or not to do something else stupid.
Out on the freeway/highway, I speed. It's fun, and it does save time.
