I fail to see what a warranty has to do with it. There is a recommended maintenance schedule that should be followed, whether your vehicle is under warranty or not. Skip those dealer recommended $600 services that designed more for dealer profit than maintaining your warranty. I do my own basic maintenance, whether a vehicle is under warranty or not. Just keep records and there is nothing the dealer can do should you need a warranty repair, unless it can be proven that you made a mistake. It's called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. My vehicles don't cost me any more just because they are under warranty.
You do what you want I’ll stick to my dealer to get my oil change and other maintenance during the warranty, I’m not about to dig through paperwork to find receipts that I’ve done the required maintenance in case i have a Warrenty issue, i want everything in their computer. So you do what you want and I’ll do what i want besides the price difference is minimal anyways for a simple oil change,some people make a simple oil change into a major chore it’s a oil change I’ll let the dealer do them so i can enjoy a coffee and snack waiting fo them to do it and i stay nice and clean, besides they wash my vehicle every time also.

You have to have a newer car to have a warranty. Most cars are only under warranty for 3-4 years.

And that’s fine. Some people enjoy working on their cars. Some don’t.
Buying/leasing a new car to avoid having to work on it is ok. Oil changes can be cheaper if you diy. Regardless new or used it’s gonna cost money. It’s just a matter of how much and how much your wallet can handle. Some like new cars every three years some like saving their money.
You obviously like not dealing with car issues or services. AlaskaErik doesn’t mind. Some do some dont.
A friend of mine owned several quick lube places. He was told if they did only oil/filter changes then they would starve. The business model is upsells.
I wouldn’t bother changing my own oil when I go to Walmart and pay $19.95 for their pit crew oil change. I think it woul$ cost me nearly that month to buy the filter and 5 quarts of oil. When my new car was under warranty, I always went to the Hyundai dealer so they couldn’t get out of any warranty claims. And theynonly charged $25 and washed my suv for free. Plus free coffee, cookies, and free message while you wait. not a bad deal.

That’s great for you but not everyone cares to drive older vehicles and do maintenance on them all the time. I pay $300 a month on a 2018.5 Nissan Rogue Sport that includes a warranty on the rims and tires if anything were to damage them by a potholes or as we call them in metro Detroit chuckholes. Point is i will always have a reliable vehicle every 3 years and i don’t drive more than 12,000 miles a year. And I’m sure there are other just like me.
