Kentland IN, 1967, 61 in a 45. I had an open 6 pack in the back seat and 17 year old girl up front. Illinois plates and a NJ drivers license. I was taken right to the justice of the peace. I knew I was in big trouble. Turned out the cop never saw the 6 pack and he and the JP were running a scam. I was given a $5.00 fine and $45.00 court cost. Then I was told to make the check directly to JP ******** (name withheld in case he has relatives running the town now).

Never got a speeding tickets or into an accident. Which I'm lucky for. I used to do some reckless driving when I first got my license. But I did get two ridicolous tickets. One for blowing a stop sign, the cop had the nerves to pull me over in my own house. That really pissed me off! I got a ticket for a busted tail light. I was in a bad neighborhood at like 3 am picking up a friend to go to work next thing you know a cop pulls me over. So I was cool and confident he pulled me over because maybe he thought I had drugs or was buying drugs. Next thing you know this prick gives me a 95 dollar (non fix it) busted tail light ticket. That really, really pissed me off! In the end I guess I ranther those than speeding tickets as a CDL driver a speeding ticket can be the end of your career.

I should mention I was only 19. I'm not a pervert.

I'm pretty cautious ...but did get caught speeding near Austin,MN ...my friend was driving ...so the trooper put my friend in his car ...handed me a piece of paper with rough map and told me to go back to the court house to "bail out" my friend ....they cut across the grassy median (on I-94) but I had to go 5 miles to the next exit and double back ... got caught in Wyoming ...in literally the middle of nowhere ....again my friend was Mr leadfoot .... it was on HWY 287 near Jeffrey City (almost a ghost town at the time) ...my friend never did pay the ticket ...I was scared to go back to Wyoming for years after ....I was caught speeding in SW New Mexico on HWY 70 just west of Lordsburg ...but the very nice NM state trooper just advised me to "take it easy on the speed" ....no ticket ...very refreshing .....most memorable speeding ticket was in Missouri ....on I-44 near Union ....it was Sunday morning around 7 AM ...I was flying along at around 85 mph ...I passed a big old red Ford LTD (this was years ago) ....I had no idea it was an unmarked police car .... then I looked in the rear view mirror ...I see flashing lights in the grill ...I pull over and out comes this older state trooper ...smokey the bear hat ...really tall ...at least 6 foot 6 .....he asks for my driver's licence ...then I remember it's in the trunk ....I get out to open the trunk and he's unholstered his gun (looked like a long barrell 44 magnum) ...I guess he's thinking I might pull something ... then I sit in his cruiser while he writes up the ticket ... remember this was many years ago when the speed limit was 55 ....I see a paper on the front passenger seat with fine amounts ...60 mph ...$ 49 ...each 1 mph increasing the fine amount ...then it read "over 90 go to jail" ....I'm thinking ...gee I'm glad I wasn't caught going over 90

Not one for me and I have been driving since 1988. I'm just careful. I have been over 110 mph in my VW, and my Maxima...
