Ticket #1: Failed to stop at a temporary stop sign near a school (It was on the other side of the sidewalk, behind a low tree branch...)

Ticket #2: Speeding. 46 in a 30

Ticket --: Speeding - convinced the cop my spedometer was off (I had just come from the movie 'Gone in 60 Seconds') heh.

Ticket #3: Citation for destruction of private property. (I was late for a college exam, speeding to it on tight curves in the rain. Totalled my car. Go figure.)

Ticket #4: Speeding. 82 in a 60. (I was a bridesmaid that night and still in my dress. The next day I was leaving for Michigan so he made it a 80 in a 60 so I wouldn't have to appear in court. Yay. Me.)

Ticket #5: Speeding. 43 in a 30. (Still convinced that wasn't true - I was in Tennessee looking for a street I needed to turn on. Why would I be speeding? Huh, I was going to a church for rehearsal to be yet ANOTHER bridesmaid.)

Ticket --: Speeding. 54 in a 35. (In Vermont they give you a first warning... haha)

Ticket --: Speeding. 72 in a 60. (Got off with a warning in Arkansas - "But officer, I'm new to the state..." I still had Missouri plates, even though I'd been living in Arkansas for about two years by then.)

Add to that, three other accidents and a warning for driving without headlights and there you have my driving record. lol

But I swear to you that I really am a good driver! It's the other folks on the road that can't freakin' drive!

Got two when I first started driving... But after my second one, I guarantee I won't be getting anymore. (Ticketless for almost 8 years, woo hoo!) That gotdang ticket cost me $688. I was doing 101 on a deserted freeway. I didn't realize I was going that fast since I was going downhill. Next thing I know this invisible cop appeared from nowhere (really!) and pulled me over. I guess he was having a good day... ended up lowering the ticket to 91MPH... Can't imagine how much it would've been if he wasn't in a good mood and lowered it...

I never got a speeding ticket.I am 26.Ive been driving since i was 18.I am in New Jersey and the speed limit on the Garden State Parkway is 65.I dont do more than 72.I figure the cops wont bother with me when everyone around me is doing 85-90mph.Its more revenue for the state if the pull the other guys over.I only drive three miles to work each way and its mostly in traffic so i dont have a chance to speed.Besides, the township cops are very predictable about where they hide out.

It's been a few years since I got a speeding, or any kind of a ticket.

I've been driving since 1974, and I can't remember exactly how many speeding tickets I've gotten, but I do remember getting 2 speeding tickets within one hour! In September of 1982, my girlfriend back then and I were driving to the mountains of eastern Arizona, and I was on a downhill run on highway 87 a few miles before the city of Payson, and I got pulled over for speeding. About an hour later, we were on highway 260 about 40 miles east of Payson, I was doing about 65 or so, 10 MPH above the speed limit, and I saw a highway patrol car going in the opposite direction. After he passed by us, I looked in the rear view mirror and I saw his brake lights come on, and he turned around. I thought, I hope he's not gonna do what I think he's gonna do. Sure enough, he pulled up fast behind me with his lights flashing. I thought you gotta be kidding me! This can't be happening! I got another speeding ticket. I gave the keys to my girlfriend and told her to drive. She drove about 10-15 MPH over the 55 limit and nobody bothered her!

I guess it wasn't my day to drive!

Im sure if you're a jerk, you're more likely to get a ticket... I'm also young, and so I think the officers tend to give me a ticket because of that, but I'm courteous calm, honest, etc... and no luck.

I've also known quite a few girls who have gotten away with speeding multiple times... sexist cops.

I've had tickets at:
70+ in a 60 (x3)
50 in a 45
80+ in a 60 (Got this one dropped, unable to prove laser device had been calibrated)
Too fast for conditions (collision)
Following too close (collision)

I think thats it. They were all within my first 2 years of getting my license, and I haven't had anything since... like... August of 05? And that was a bumper tap w/o police involvement.

I pay my own insurance, have bought all of my own vehicles and pay my own tickets before anyone asks how much my parents support me.
I actually was considering adding "aside from being young, attractive and female" to that, but I didn't. I used to know a girl who got out of a ticket for going the wrong way down a one-way street, for crying out loud.

I'm not a jerk...I was actually quite respectful that one time I was pulled over. The cop wasn't bad, either - he wasn't particularly nice, but he was very professional and didn't give me much crap. I'd guess it's just luck of the draw.

Nope. The citation he gave me said the fine was $75 for under 20 over, $95 (I think) for 20 to 30 over and a court appearance required for more than that.

I was driving over the Bay Bridge from Oakland to San Francisco at around 75, posted speed limit being 65.

CHP started to tail me, and I slowed down to 68 or so. He followed me all the way to the end of the bridge, and then I got off, and he left.

That was the closest I've ever gotten (in 5 years of driving) to getting a ticket.

Yes, I did that once too, neonwatt! And while turning around (thankfully NO cars coming), there was a policeman on the corner. I did smile and wave, as he just shook his head....another blonde bimbo he thought for sure!

I have posted this before,I am 75,drove 34 years for Bell,CT & Denver,my last vehicle 275,000 this vehicle 128,000 miles. I have never been ticketed nor had an accident. It in my travels seems funny on a long trip to see same speeding vehicle pass me or be in station for gas.Set cruise at 5 above speed limit and if not sure what is the matter ahead slow down and figure it out.In north florida this week many deaths from speeding, plain stupidity.
