I'll take your comments as a compliment....it was people like you who said the human body could not withstand over 35 mph, we would never create flying machines and Trump would never be President!

And then there are the people who say that electric cars will never work and it's impossible to quit fossil fuels for electrical generation.
They're nothing but techological hurdles that will be overcome over time.

2040 is a long way off. Here's the best phone techology in 1995:

Wow, it'll never get any better than that!

It is possible to be 100% renewable energy but by 2040 might be pushing it.

Have you ever heard of BC Hydro? Probably not. Doesn't fit with the agenda.

I don't recall ever hearing ANYONE say THAT!
I DO recall many passed dates of predicted doom and gloom though...peak oil, oceans fished out, polar caps melted, coastal cities flooded or frozen, sky blacked or stripped of ozone and no sun protection etc.....many examples from the scare-mongering left! All passed without much ado.

Enough for every car in British Columbia to run on them in 2040?

Hydroelectricity has kind of fallen out of favor due to the disruption of people and wildlife that dams create. I suppose there is probably new technology that limits the impacts of dams than those built decades ago, but itís still an issue.

10 years ago, hydrogen fuel was all the rage. Now, . . . meh. Zero emissions is another fad.

It demonstates how far things can come in 25 years.
Today's technology will be as antique as that phone in 2040.

As far as the "scare mongering left" goes... whatever, you're in the wrong forum.

Right....and the O&G industry will continue to make sure they have product! BTW, many think that O&G are renewable...
The rumor of their demise has been greatly exaggerrated!

Thanks for proving the point you are trying to dispute. The phone technology did not change. A cell signal for telephony is today almost the same as in 1995. Telephony signals use CDMA or TDMA. CDMA goes back to the 1960's and TDMA to 1990. Terms such as LTE, 4G, 5G are just iterations/improvements of CDMA or TDMA to allow transmission of non-voice data.

A voice only phone made today is almost identical to one made in 1995.
