Neither is the Ford Fusion. Plenty of sedans have had AWD. There is no technological reason why the Soul can't have it either. The fact that it's not an SUV or CUV is irrelevant.
You can’t trust JD Power because they do not weigh problems differently from minor to major. They consider a malfunctioning Bluetooth just as bad as a blown engine. I put more trust in Consumer Reports.
What is a floating roof? Do you mean a rear tailgate that doesn't slope down? I don't like the look of this thing, but as far as space, it's practical to leave the roof straight instead of sloping.
If you look at the picture of the EV, there is a little black strip at the very back at the top of the C-pillar that serves no purpose other than to visually separate the roof from the rest of the car, creating a "floating" roof effect.
It's one of today's worst styling trends. Nissan started it a few years back (which should've been a red flag in itself... most Nissans look like ass) and then all of the lemming plagiarists jumped in.
A black Soul EV would look alright because the clownish grille is gone and the black color gets rid the floating roof.
I just bought a new 2019 Soul, I like it better than the looks of the 2020, I think the front end of it looks angry lol. The inside looks nice though!
Yup.
The styling is eccentric, but the car is versatile and has an excellent interior.
I think the new front looks like a malignant frog, but I've seen worse. Every time I look at one of those over-done front ends, all I see is a really high repair bill after a parking lot ding.

All of the Jag X-Types were AWD.
I had one of the rare wagons... it was good in the snow and quite versatile.
Most people didn't know Jaguar even made a wagon, so it got more than a few quizzical looks.
