Correct we’re is a Subaru pickup i bet you see a buttload of F150 pickups also.
Actually, Subaru made the Brat, a rather nice little pickup (don't bother looking for a used one, those who own one usually will not sell it for any price). They also made the Baja, a somewhat larger pickup. Nice vehicle, but the bed was too small. There was ojne on a used car lot not far from me a while back. It didn't sit on the lot for more than a week.
Have you noticed that nearly all Subarus are 4 doors? They don't make a Sport Coupe or a convertible.
I suppose "Marketing" tells management that such a vehicle wouldn't sell enough to make it worth building. Perhaps they are correct.
Considering the number of sport coupes and convertibles from other makes I see on the highways and byways, Perhaps they are wrong!

Both of these designs were way ahead of their time!
At my age i could care less about status symbols I’m not trying to impress no one a vehicle to me is a way to get from point a to point b. Some guys today treat the vehicles better than their wife’s or homes. I’ve seen people who had beautiful expensive vehicles but live in a shack.
That's your take. Many of us LOVE vehicles and would never consider them just a point A to point B tool.

This is interesting. A Wrangler with a longer wheel base, and a built in bike rack! The engine is smaller than my 2001 Sport Wranger so I am not sure about acceleration. Mine was pretty gutless in passing lanes on mountain highways. I wonder if the longer wheel base knocks down any of the twitchiness in driving?

You can’t go by displacement anymore. Your 4.0 was 100 hp less than a modern 3.6.
