Default Nissan Maxima help

I have a keyless entry for my 2002 Nissan. I don't have an alarm, but the horn sounds when I lock the car. Here's the problem: Occassionally, the horn and parking lights flash as if an alarm is being sounded. Its not a full blown horn blast though, just a teeny one. We checked the car to see if windows were down, and nothing. My hubby even switched keypads thinking that was the cause. It was raining last night but Im not sure if the two are related. OUr neighbors have said it happens occassionally. We DO NOT want to bring it in to the dealer unless absolutely necessary. Any ideas??

That is essentially the built in alarm. Could be from the car being bumped or something else. My 86 maxima had this and it became such a pain i had to disable the remote entry system later in life because the alarm would go off at 3am when a cat jumped on the hood

It's random, I watched my car in the driveway and nothing triggers it.. with huge thunderstorms it doesn't happen or if it gets bumped. It was a good try but it's not related to being bumped. Thanks though.. Anyone else??
