American oil companies welcome the cuts because it will increase prices. They do not like prices in the 40s. My spouse works in the oil biz so we keep up it heavily.

Well we will just have to wait and see right now the economy is better because of lower oil prices for a majority of the American people. Sure when gasoline was high people in the oil industry were making money while the American drivers were the ones paying for it and the people who fly and deliver charges it all takes a toll on the average American we pay more and big oil rakes in billions of dollars at our expense.

The State of Alaska also welcomes the cuts. Oil prices have a huge impact on state spending as we have no state income tax or state sales tax.

Yep. I think $60 is a good price point for oil, it’s high enough for companies to make money, yet low enough to provide a deal for consumers.

OPEC finds it easier to announce than to effectuate cuts.

The crucial thing is that fracking production can go up and down. Conventional crude is harder to stop and restart. Thus when Saudi cuts, or if they cut, fracking can go up.

With demand stable and refining costs higher per gallon with reduced production, I expect to see planned refinery shutdowns to make improvements.
