I had good luck with Ebay motors last time but the selection is sparse. Many of them wanted all sorts of info to "unlock special price" but that was a waste of time.

I'm looking for a 2018 low mileage Suburu Crosstrek. Local dealers were thousands too high.

Which online site do you like?

That particular car is not all that plentiful in used 2018s yet, so they are not likely to make great deals on them. I would try Autotrader, if you insist on going online, but better yet drive an hour or two and find a dealer in a lower cost area, where their overhead is lower and they have less sales.

I've noticed that Carvana have found themselves a little niche. They had 52 Chevy Spark EVs and sold 'em all in no time.
Carvana delivers so it's much easier than trying to get a short range EV home yourself.

They have some Crosstreks. No idea if they prices they've got on 'em are good or not.

This. There simply won't be any trade-ins or early lease returns for at least another year on 2018 models. What there will be is a handful of loaners, repos and other early orphans, at prices only a little below new.

Autotrader, cars.com for newer cars. Craigslist for cheap used cars.

Carvana made their niche as a dumpster ground selling auction cars at a premium to millennial women who dont know better.

Autotrader was ok, Carvana too high-- many of them wanted 5 clicks and personal information. Thanks all

Just too new. Better off getting a new one. Always amazes me that folks pay a lot of money for a used car when a new one is the same or even cheaper if one has negotiating skills.

If one has a disability and can't get out or has no transportation to shop around find a friend to take you shopping. In my town we have church volunteers that will take people almost anywhere in state.

Some buy new cars over internet with one or no visits to dealership.

ANY used car one should get car inspected by an independent shop and a Carfax. Yah, for those who don't like Carfax - it is not perfect. But Carfax is just one more tool among other tools.

Many READ this and then IGNORE all of this. Then post what a horror story the car that they just purchased.

I ended up with a Crosstrek Limited with an extra package that on its page was $30,995 and will pay $2200 plus $600 to drive it from portland OR to El Paso. There was some stuff I wanted to do in Oregon and Las Vegas on the way home so I'm satisfied. It has 4100 miles.

Autotrader and Ebay were the best for me.
