I love the Miata but it is a dying market segment.
2018 was one of the better sales years of this century. More were sold in 2018 than any year between 2006 and 2016. Even more when you add the Fiata sales, only 06 and 07 of the pre-ND years would beat 2018 sales.
Then Mazda sells another 350 or so a month in Europe, a couple dozen a month in Canada. Fiat sells 650 Fiata a month in Europe.
Not including Japan or the rest of Asia & Australia, that's about 24,000 ND sold worldwide in 2018. Not bad for a niche car. Sure, down from the NA days when they'd sell 25,000 in the US alone, but decent volume. It's actually about the number of Corvettes GM sells (almost all in the US, they sell less than 1000 in Europe a year)
NSX is a supercar, never designed to sell in high numbers. They priced it about $80-$100k too high and made it way too complicated. Should have made another NSX. Minimalist, simple, unpretentious sports car, that shared a (highly tuned) engine with the Acura Legend and later Acura TL. On the other hand it's not like the first generation NSX sold in large numbers either.
Alfa 4C they basically stopped importing them. You've got what hasn't been picked over, which means it's mostly the ones with stupid options like the $2,000 carbon fiber interior. The 4C has the interior quality of a '90s Dodge Neon. Anyone crazy enough to buy one over a Boxster cares absolutely nothing about some glued on carbon fiber in the interior. If they did, they'd already be in a Boxster which is about a million times as easy to live with as a 4C. Also, it's just not a very good car. Yes, it has a fancy carbon fiber tub. But at the end of the day it's still heavier than a Fiata so what's the point. Just drop the engine in a Fiata and call it an Abarth. Use the money you didn't spend developing a manual transmission. Price it at $40k.
Nissan GT-R cost more than a Corvette without the prestige of a Corvette. Most people don't even know what it is.
People that buy the GT-R know what they are vis a vis the Corvette which IMHO doesn't have prestige. It is a great value for the performance it delivers but in base form it's mainly a vehicle for 60+ buyers trying to hold onto their youth.
Infiniti Q70L V8 powered car is a low seller too. I prefer owning a car, if its reliable, that few have and like it if no one konws what it is. K900 is an option I am exploring and removing the Kia badges so it is a mystery to many
How many Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, Bugattis, Aston Martins, Rolls, Royces etc have been sold in the same period of time?
With Ferrari, they only make a set number to maintain exclusivity (which is hilarious bc there are TONS of them around here and the used market is hot, too).

When I go to the Nissan dealership to get my maxima serviced I look at all their new models in disgust. I think the new Altima was the only model where I thought yeah I could drive that for how much they are asking.

Another similarity or difference is that, despite the current high price tag of its more powerful versions, a Corvette is the type of supercar that is definitely sold in high numbers compared to various other supercars.

You could put the Korean KIA badges on it. I've seen quite a few.
The problem with them is that it screams "I'm ashamed to be seen in a KIA".
