I don't plan on being back home until March and since I drive for Uber I put at least a thousand miles a week on my car.
Definitely need to change it then. lol
This might be one of those situations where you would be better off just going to an oil change place or local mechanic and have it changed real quick. Specify your oil and filter and go get it yourself and bring it back to them if they don't have it and watch to make sure they use the correct type. I don't trust oil change places to actually use what i specify because they just want to get it in and out as quickly and cheaply as possible. I would probably lose my mind on them if I were to ever go to one and then look under my vehicle and it have a cheap oil filter on it. That is why I do all my own maintenance other than things that are a pain in the rear and I don't have time to do. For those things, I have a trusted mechanic that is just as OCD as I am that I use.
I change mine every 8-12k miles, I drive alot. It's coming up for the time to change it on my road trip. What places would be good to do it at? Assuming I don't make a mess.
I see a lot of maintenance going on in our Autozone parking lot. It might be worth checking with them if you can use their lot. Take the used oil inside, and you are good to go.

Changing wipers is one thing, but I can't imagine their insurance company would be too thrilled if a car came down on a customer doing an oil change in their parking lot.
Most auto parts stores I go to have signs strictly banning working on cars in their lots. I know people still do it though.
I'm old schools and religiously change the oil between 3-3500 miles tops no matter what type of oil I use. OP shoulda changed the oil prior to the trip

I've seen brake jobs, shocks, and more being done in this lot. I'm sure much comes down to how lenient management is on cracking down.
