Well... yes, kind of... my brother got tired of having a motorcycle as his sole means of transportation one winter and I told him that I knew of a Festiva that he could buy for $300.

It ran great, but both front fenders were damaged from fender benders and the owner didn't want to put the insurance money she was paid back into the car.

A local body shop sold us 2 NEW fenders for $35 each. The fenders were welded on and not bolted. I got out my torch and removed the old fenders and spot welded on the new ones. You could buy a set of those 4 little tires for $89 installed...

My brother liked the little car so much that he had it painted red with one of those $99 paint jobs.

The car never gave him any trouble the 2 years he owned it and was very thrifty on gas. He graduated and sold it for $800 to another student and we we occasionally see it around over the next couple of years.

So, yes... it was a great car for him!

This is what I had, but gold... 1980 Fiesta. The festiva was an UGLY car. They are bringing back the Fiesta to the US I just read.

My first car was a 1974 Dodge Dart with a "Slant Six" engine. Mechanics tell me that was a great engine and it's probably still running somewhere. If American car companies still made cars like that one, we'd be a lot better off!

Favorite was probably my 1995 Saturn SL-1 in which I travelled over 175,000 miles before it needed it's first major repair.

The turbo motor from the Mercuri Capri (the Australian built convertible one) will bolt right into a Festiva, for a real sleeper ride.

I loved the Fiesta and am glad to see it coming stateside again for the 2010 model year.

First car was 1971 Opel GT, 4spd. Bought in '73, got rid of the poopy carb replaced with a weber w/k&N filter, dropped the anchor that was the tailpipe
and installed a custom exhaust(Borla, I think). Had the entire body sanded, stripped, painted metallic silver. I can remember to this day, $700.00 for the paint job in 1973. A different car back then...Probably also my favorite for all the incredible adventures and experiences we had.

Close second:
1968 mustang 289 bored 30 over, agressive cam, headers, holley 750...Just a simple cool ride...easy to fix

My first car was a 1966 VW Fastback, 4 speed with no second gear and bald tires! What did I care, I was 16 years old and thrilled to have a car at all! My favorite car was my 1990 Chevy Corisica. It was just NICE and was very fuel economical.
