Stand around a school zone sometime and count the morons who blow through at speeds higher than the posted limit, never mind the zone limit. If you're doing 40 100 feet from the start of a controlled zone, it seems very unlikely you'll be doing 25 when you enter it.

I love posters who find all kinds of ways to justify their shooty driving habits while crying "freedom!"

I'd wager it exists at the current level only because of public ignorance.

Yeah the unmanned cameras were found to be illegal in OH. So they’re essentially using the same tech, just with an officer now as well.

But the poor cops did not have a budget to man patrol cars. Isn't that why the unmanned speed cameras were so popular?

The fact is, every infringement of rights is legal and constitutional and judicially enforceable until the courts rule otherwise. The police can do what they please during the lag time until that happens.

With the snow over the past several weeks, my license plate has been completely obscured by snow. I never got pulled over.

Go to Germany. You will rarely see a traffic cop least to say - get pulled over. cameras everywhere. Well, and law abiding drivers also.

How are they going to prove who was driving? If you are driving my vehicle and get caught via picture of plates, I get a ticket? Yeah, I'll be hiring my lawyer friend right now.

So when I can verify I wasn't driving, the ticket will be thrown out.

You're about 20 years too late for that lame argument.

How can you prove who’s driving? Every red light camera in Mpls was shut down and removed. Care to explain?

You don't. It's a civil infraction on the owner and doesn't affect your insurance or points on your license.

The State Supreme Court ruled that the penalty wasn't uniform because state law says speeding is a criminal infraction on the operator. Speed cameras usually require some act of the State Legislature, which Minnesota didn't do.
