Chicagoland area is horrid. People doing 45 mph in 20 mph school zones, tailgating so close you couldnt slip a piece of paper between your bumper and theirs, doing 100+ mph on the freeways, horn abuse, no turn signal usage, road rage, etc, etc, etc. This might also constitute as road rage, but not a single day goes by where I dont feel like ripping someone out of their car and making them eat a few knuckle sandwiches. The people here drive like the crap they were born out of. Despicable!!
Chicago drivers are significantly more courteous than BosWash in general, DC in particular. Speeding dosen't constitute bad drivers in my book, swerving across 3+ lanes of traffic at once without pause does, not to mention just general douchebagery.

I don't know...Chicago is bad in my book. The rest of the Midwest isn't as bad though. Wisconsin has some very courteous drivers.
I agree that the drivers in the northeast corridor are very aggressive. But I think drivers in upstate New York and most of PA (excluding the Philly region) are pretty good overall.
Down here in Florida, you have drivers from all of those areas driving on the same roads.

Hence the boswash comment. Boswash excludes most of PA except philly and the commuter NE and south central parts as well as the upstate NY parts.

i also don't necessarily find aggressiveness to constitute bad driving either. when you drive in manhattan, you BETTER be aggressive, or else you will be the *direct cause* of major gridlock.

Oh trust me, I see that all the time as well. Ive seen people speed by traffic on the SHOULDER, doing upwards of 80+ mph! Ive witnessed people driving on the shoulder doing 50 mph in a traffic jam, just so they can bypass the whole thing. Im the one who pulls my car out into the shoulder so no bozos can do that anymore. You wanna know how some Chicagoans are? A few years back a guy got busted doing 150 mph in a 45 (Lake Shore Drive)! He went to court, and upon leaving did a wheelie on his motorcycle through the parking lot. Oh, speaking of wheelies, Ive been passed by motorcycles doing 100+mph ON ONE WHEEL!!!!! Groups of em!!!!
What about Utah, OMG they suck, there always on there stupid cell phones and there's no speed bumps on the road to keep the idiots in there lane.
I must second this. I was in SLC and the drivers will NOT move out of the fast lane to save their lives no matter how much you blare the horn. Its like they go into another planet while driving
That's funny Houston is down twice. Driving in Houston is an exact science. Residents can drive 85+ through narrow construction lanes on the freeway in rush hour traffic and can merge across 4 or 5 lanes of traffic to get to an exit ramp just like that. Having kept up with it a few times, I'm really impressed. And they have two loops and you still can't "bypass" the city.
New Orleaneans have a bad habit of passing you on the shoulder if they want to get around.
I can't pick an all-around bad. I've heard Boston is the worst, but I've never been that far up the northeast. I'll abstain from this vote.
I can see why people would say Boston, NYC, DC, etc but in my opinion aggressive driving isn't bad driving. I said Miami though I would've rather just said Florida in general because the people down there still weave in traffic like we do but they do it SLOWLY. what is the deal with that?
I definitely agree with the BosWash comments with regard to aggressive driving. Particularly in DC, many people here really have no regard for traffic laws. Right-of-way, turn signals, STOP SIGNS -- the basics are pretty much thrown out the window, because wherever someone's going clearly takes precedence over this.
