4 Runner for me. Burns more fuel than the rest, but has lots of power for towing and things like that, and it is built to last. Just check the trade-in value of a used 4 Runner.

I've have found reviews and others opinions don't always match mine. You're down to four choices, go drive them all and choose what you like best. Not everyone has the same taste and cars feel different to different people. Your body may fit better in one than the others.

Best advice here.

I thought you were talking about used ones but after a search, holy cow. You can get the sport model for 15K new in basic trim.

Was ready to sign the papers for the Forester when hubby texted me...Get the Outback! I sqealed for joy! My test drive was driving it home! No regrets after 7 months. Love my Outback. Smooth......fun...not bumpy like Forester.....

What are some factors that might not be noticeable in a short test drive?
None of the above, chevy equinox has the best real world fuel economy with 1.5 turbo.

Outback at the top. Anything but a Jeep.

This is my response too but I would eliminate the Cherokee from the list due to reliability concerns.

Consumer Reports has the Forester as their top-ranked compact SUV,which includes the best road-test scores of the category (90/100). I got the top-line trim, so the opposite end and love the car.

If you want to get an Outback, I'd wait for the new model that will come out near the end of the year. Those will be a clean sheet redesign and based on the new Subaru Global platform that the Crosstrek, Forester, Ascent and upcoming Legacy have also been moved to. All accounts are that each vehicle has been much improved by the move to the new Global Platform.

Can’t go wrong with a Subaru or a Toyota. The Foresters are built in Japan so that was a plus for us and we had to order one and wait about 6 weeks to get one back in 2015.

We love the car and have had zero issue with it.

We also love Toyota’s, owner several of them and Never had any issues whatsoever. A fellow that I’ve been recently worked with was telling me he put 400K on his last one and recently replaced it with a new one.

I would Never buy a Jeep or any other Chrysler product❗️
