I really don't have any data but the way some owners showcase their cars parked sideways on the grass and other street corners lead me to believe they probably think too much of their cars and want more money for it than they are worth.
No. I've bought several from people who got tired of looking at them in their farmyard, after promising to sell it for their busy daughter in the city. At least four that come to mind, all excellent bargains.'
It depends on whether the asking price is above the car's market value or not. What other possible way is there to answer such a loopy question? And what the hell does the way they have it parked on their lawn have to do with the asking price?

You don't get it, and it's midnight here. Maybe tomorrow.
I sold a car with a For Sale sign and it definitely was not overpriced. I take care of my vehicles and the first people who showed up, bought it. I am sure that some owners set the asking price unrealistically high, but on the flip side, some buyers basically try to "steal" the thing by overemphasizing the significance of minor condition issues and then lowballing with their offer.

Let's see. I want to sell my car. Should I:
a. Park it behind the barn where no one can see it's for sale.
or
b. Park it by the street with a for sale sign on it.

Yeah, considering what some used car dealers will do, if the worst that an owner does is show you the car that's for sale, you're getting off very easy.
